100 Mile run in aid of Perthes Association 4th May 2019

Chris Lightfoot and his friend Anthony are running 100 miles today to raise funds for Perthes Association

Chris’ son, Harry, now aged 7, was diagnosed with Perthes disease at the age of 4. This is relatively rare, affecting only approximately 5 in 100k children. This became severe, leading him to lose the femoral head (ball of the hip) in it’s entirety. Having progressed from having to use a wheelchair, to now being able to play football is remarkable. The support and advice the family have received from the Perthes Association has been excellent. Whilst not life threatening (other than the surgery itself), it’s life changing and so the funding of research into what causes this condition is also vital.

Seeing how brave young Harry has been, has given us the motivation to do a crazy challenge and run 100 miles in one go. The Perthes Association is a tiny charity run by volunteers, your donations will be faithfully applied – please dig deep and help us reach our target. Thank you. X
