I was diagnosed over 30 years ago with a mild form that did not need treatment. It has had very little effect on my ability to do sports (with the exception of gymnastics). The only symptom I have had is that occasionally when I am walking it goes weak for a second and then recovers. When I was pregnant it disappeared; I think that this is because the ligaments become more stretchy. I have recently taken up a sport which is beginning to stretch the joint and I am finding it difficult. What I would appreciate advice on is whether you think that I could strengthen it with the right type of exercises or would that make it worse? Also curious to know whether the hip issues should have healed as no treatment was necessary. Thank you for your thoughts.
