I had a total hip replcement last August and so far so good. I am so sorry it went wrong for your son, but I know that they will do all they can to fix it. I never realised when I had the operation how much the muscles need to recover after and hurt for so long after. HOwever I am getting better slowly.

I know what you mean, I had a replacement knee 18 months ago, it has now healed but it took a very long time and I still have some pain. On the bright side though, I can do more than I could before the op. It's just annoying that I cannot kneel or run after the kids!

Life is good, I actually can't ride a bike! or paint my own toenails...lol but i can laugh about that!! I carried my son full term! I suppose i wouldn't even know what to do if and when i have a hip replacement (yikes) the thought of that is unthinkable right now as don't fix what's not broken!!

Man recovery is still taking a while after my hip replacement. At last I have started more physio, like over three months after I came out of hospital! First physio session since then. My physio was shocked and anoyed I had not had any sooner, now my leg muscles are very weak, which is why they hurt so much. Now I have a new set of daily exericses, as my old ones were ment for getting me out of bed enitaly, not long term apretnly. Now I am working on getting my leg muscles stronger again and my balance. I also have weekly gym sessions now at the hospital, had my first one this week.
